Description

Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services (CCBYS) provides crisis assistance to youth who have run away from home or have been kicked out of their homes. Services may include:

-Crisis intervention
-Safety assessment
-Crisis stabilization planning
-Placement in emergency shelter or foster care when needed
-Family preservation and reunification
-Assessment of mental health, substance use, and/or trauma
-Juvenile justice system intervention
-Short term case management
-Referral to other needed services

Eligibility

-24/7 services are available to youth who have been locked out of or have run away from home, are homeless without their parents, or are out of their parents' control and in immediate physical danger.
- Youth at risk of involvement with DCFS or the juvenile justice system may also receive services. DCFS wards are not eligible for CCBYS services.
- Each CCBYS community agency has a specific service area.
-The CCBYS Information Line has bilingual staff and can provide interpretation via a language line as needed. Availability of bilingual staff and interpreters at CCBYS provider agencies varies.

How to Apply

Youth, parents, and other concerned individuals may call to request services for youth in need. Call the CCBYS Information Line at 877-870-2663 for referral to the CCBYS Provider nearest you. You will need to provide basic information about the youth, including their age, gender, and current location. CCBYS staff will refer you to a local provider, and a case worker will contact you to begin the intake process and begin appropriate services. Documentation may be required: please inquire with the agency during intake.
